Tips for using wood mulch:

Wood mulch can be beneficial to the home landscape for weed suppression, moisture retention, and soil improvement, when used correctly. Follow these tips for a successful landscape.

• Apply mulch directly to soil to keep it moist and prevent blowing out.
• Apply 4” thick to suppress annual weed growth.
• Shredded Red Cedar is the most resistant to wind as it knits together and mats down.
• As the mulch on the soil decays the soil improves in tilth and fertility. A renewed look can be achieved by a new layer of 1 or 2 inches as desired.
